The Denver Art Museum’s Spanish Colonial Collection

Throughout his career in finance, Scott Reiman has acquired a wealth of experience in the fields of real estate, marketable securities, private equity, and venture capital. Scott Reiman also has held leadership positions with several nonprofit organizations in the Denver area, including the Denver Art Museum, which hosts a number of expansive art collections, including the Jan and Frederick Mayer Galleries of Pre-Columbian and Spanish Colonial Art. This collection is considered among the top collections of the genre in the world.

Established more than two decades ago, the Spanish Colonial Art Collection features more than 3,000 works from the ancient cultures of Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, and more. The collection includes a variety of cultural objects, from jewelry and ceramics to furniture and textiles. Visitors to the Denver Art Museum have the opportunity to view signature pieces such as Ignacio Chacon’s “Madonna and Child with Bird” and Sebastian Lopez de Arteaga’s “Saint Michael and the Bull.”
