In May of 2014, the John Lynch Foundation held its 16th Annual Salute the Stars awards luncheon at Sports Authority Field in Denver. Sponsored by the Reiman Foundation and FourPoint Energy, the event included over 2,500 attendees and presented over $86,000 in scholarships to student-athletes in the Denver area. It also featured a keynote speech from Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and award presentations from Mayor Michael B. Hancock and John and Linda Lynch. The John Lynch Foundation also invited an additional 1,500 students from school districts throughout Denver, which allowed it to share inspirational stories of student-athletes with a far broader audience.
In the days leading up to the event, the John Lynch Foundation organized a Kick Off Party at the Denver Tech Center’s Venice Ristorante. The four-course gourmet dinner also included entertainment from Matt Mauser and the Frank Sinatra Tribute Band, as well as a live auction, which raised over $410,000 to support deserving student-athletes from across the state of Colorado.
