As a long-time supporter of the Denver Art Museum, Scott Reiman enjoys sharing some of his favorite pieces throughout the museum, including this Artwork of the Week: Table Screen, China, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period (116-1722)
The scenes depicted in this table screen are derived from a 13th century dramatic novel, Romance of the Western Chamber. Passages from the novel are inscribed on the back of the screen, so the owner can entertain their guests. Find this piece in the Asian Art gallery on level five of the North Building.
